Bourjois Sweet Kiss Lipstick : 44 Praline Distingue : An Insight

Although my last post said that I was back, I wasn’t exactly back. I thought of writing new articles regularly but again got too busy in the last month as my in-laws were visiting us.

Now I’m finally back to blogging world 😀 These last months had been the busiest of my life.

Anyway, today I’m reviewing Bourjois Paris Sweet Kiss Lipstick 44 Praline Distingue

I admit I wrote this review a long time back when I was still in India but didn’t get around to publish it. So, without further ado here’s the review 😛

Quantity : 3 gm

Ingredients : Not mentioned

Bourjois : Am in love with this brand!! 😀 Everything this brand offers is splendid. Be it blush, eye shadow, lipstick, you name it! I’ve been dying to try out its blushes after hearing such rave reviews about them in blogging world. I’m definitely going to get it someday. For now I’m fairly content to have its lipstick. I bought this lipstick online from Though I was eyeing some other shade, it wasn’t available 😦  This shade is my second choice, but boy! What a choice it is! 😀

The packaging is quite sophisticated. It’s sturdy and sleek, too. It comes in a sleek silver tube covered with a translucent purple casing. It’s pretty attractive. The lipstick number and name is mentioned on one end and the color indicator on the other making it easy to pick out the color from both the ends. It has a unique lock mechanism. There’s a small round silver slider on the side of the purple casing. In order to open the lipstick, you need to slide it down and the lipstick glides out.  This mechanism makes it impossible for the lipstick to unlock accidentally inside our pouches. Isn’t it remarkable!! 😀 😀

The shade 44 Praline Distingue is Rosy Brown.

The texture is extremely smooth and light. It glides easily on lips without pulling or tugging. It does not smudge. It gives a glossy finish. It’s moisturizing but not to a greater extent. In just one swipe the true color doesn’t show up as it is somewhat sheer. But after more than one swipe, the color shows up beautifully. It gives light to full coverage depending on the number of times you swipe it across your lips.

The staying power is decent, definitely not 8 hours as it claims!! It stayed for about 5 hours on me without eating or drinking and 2-3 hours with meals in between. It does not survive eating and drinking and wears off evenly, though it does leave behind a pretty tint while fading. It sometimes settles into fine lines.

It has a pleasant sweet fragrance not too overpowering.

It would suit almost all the fair and medium skinned beauties.

The pigmentation is quite sheer but buildable.

  • Decent staying power.
  • Glossy finish.
  • Easily available in stores or online.
  • Sheer to full coverage.

Reasons to skip this :

  • Steep price.
  • Gives a waxy feel on the lips on initial application which fades away within a few minutes.
  • Shade may not suit Dusky beauties as it is pretty nude shade.
  • Staying power is not too good.
  • Average pigmentation.
  • Would not suit super dry lips.
  • Extremely limited shade selection.
  • No ingredient list.

Last Word :

Alert! Stay away from these lipsticks if you have dry lips but if you do fall under their charm then use a lip balm underneath it 😀 😀

These are rather expensive. But we are allowed to indulge once in a while. Isn’t it 😉 If you love rosy brown or nude shades then do give this lipstick a try, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 🙂

These are smooth, quite pigmented and glides easily on lips. If you’re a ‘pink lipstick’ lover then you’re absolutely going to love this range as it has mostly pinks and nudes. I’d surely try out a couple of more shades from this range.

Despite the price tag, buying a couple of lipsticks wouldn’t hurt because the quality is amazing.

I now rest my case with you 😀 Do try and let me know your experience.

Hope you liked this post 🙂
