Have you ever wondered how much your feet endure?
You love wearing high heels but did you ever stop to think what effect does it have on your feet?
They go through so much strain all day and at the end of the day we don’t do anythng to relive them.
Usually, we beautify our face but ignore our feet. There are only a few who moisturize their feet regularly. Taking a good care of your feet is as important as taking care of the rest of you. But in this hectic life we tend to ignore the needs of our feet.
Let me tell you how easy it is to take care of your feet by just following these few steps:
First and foremost thing in foot care regime is relieving them. Avoid high heels as much as possible.
Limit wearing them in parties and other functions. Don’t wear them on a daily basis.
Wear flat sandals, slippers, and shoes instead. They are comfortable and don’t tire your feet as well.
At the end of a long day, you can make your feet relax by soaking them in warm saline water. For this, take half a bucket or a bowl of warm water(keep the water temperature as per your endurance. I like it to be a bit hot as it relieves my tired feet :)) and put 3 teaspoons of table salt in it. Now put your feet in it for 15-20 minutes. Wash them with plain water afterwards and moisturize them. You will feel instant relief.
Keep your feet clean no matter what. Don’t ever walk barefoot even if your at home. We don’t see it but the dust makes a home in our heels and become the main reason for their cracking. You can simply wash you feet with any soap or body wash at least twice a day or whenever you feel like.
Scrubbing is another important factor in foot care routine. It removes the dead skin on your feet making them soft.
We must scrub our feet daily. But if due to some reason you are unable to do so daily, then you can do it on every third day. But you shouldn’t skip it as it is very important.
You can find many good foot scrubs in the market. Choose the one which suits you best.
You can use items from your kitchen for scrubbing your feet, too.
Take some sugar, wet your feet and scrub sugar gently all over your foot till some of the crystals melt. Wash and then moisturize. You will see instantaneous change in the skin of your feet as the sugar has the tendency to make the skin soft.
You can use powdered pulses for scrubbing too. Split Red Lentil (Masoor daal) is very effective in making the skin soft.
Daily massage your feet with coconut/olive/almond/or any other body oil. It makes them beautiful and soft. Wash and clean your feet twice a daily. Probably in the morning and before sleeping. After washing put a few drops of coconut/olive/almond/or any other body oil on them and massage till it gets absorbed by the skin. Wipe away the excess oil with a cotton.
Another way of keeping feet soft is by massaging them with raw milk and washing them afterwards.
Since there are no oil glands in the feet, it becomes even more important to hydrate them so that they don’t lose their moisture. For this, you can massage lotions and cream specially meant for foot twice a day to make your feet soft and supple.
or you can use a body lotion.
Finally, some useful tips for you:
- Wash your feet regularly, especially between the toes, and dry them completely.
- Always wear shoes that fit you properly. Make it a habit to buy new shoes later in the day when your feet are likely to be at their largest.
- Replace worn out shoes as soon as possible.
- Select and wear the right shoe for the activity that you are engaged in (e.g., running shoes for running).
- Don’t trim your toenails too short or cut nails in the corners or on the sides as it may lead to ingrown toenails.
- Don’t wear the same pair of shoes daily.
- Steer clear of walking barefooted. Without shoes your feet are more prone to injury and infection.
- If there’s pain in your foot and it persists for days then contact your doctor.
Have a great day…
